I totally get you. We’ve had 2 miscarriages and 2 babies. A girl 2 years ago and 2 months ago, a boy. Might be part of our culture (I’m fr Uruguay and husband Hispanic) and part just us but both my husband and I worry about stuff like that as well. I’ll have those gruesome thoughts too and once I start I tell myself to just STOP! It’s hard but it’s also not helpful to me. I’ve been trying to not be a helicopter parent but with so many things that can happen, it’s hard. Plus my 2 year old daughter prefers running to walking lol.

Oh girl, YES. And Yes and YES and YESSSSS!!! I am a super-worrier, as well. I worry about EVERYTHING. We struggled with infertility as well, and both my kids (boys age 4 and 2) are walking miracles (as well as accidents and disasters waiting to happen), and I worry every freaking day that something will happen to them. My husband (who I describe as “doesn’t worry even if he smells smoke, until he sees flames”) asks constantly how I live in my own head (antidepressants, and anti anxiety meds!!) – he really doesn’t get it (and your FD probably doesn’t either) – some of it is a guy thing. But yep. Been there. We need a t-shirt!!!

Now that we are through the youngest days (when I worried constantly about SIDS, smothering, etc) I find it’s easier in some ways and harder in others (they’re more independent, and can do things that I can’t always control).

One day at a time!! 😀

Trust me I see accidents waiting to happen daily but it helps to remember that FD doesn’t want anything to happen to LM either. Like you pointed our, NO child is irreplaceable.
